National Facial Protection Month: Free Custom-Fit Mouth Guard

April is National Facial Protection Month and we’re ready to celebrate the month by reminding you to save your face and teeth. Spring is the time we all love to get suited up for outdoor activities but we cannot forget to protect our head and face. By protecting yourself with a helmet and mouth guard you are avoiding head, mouth and facial injuries due to sports-related accidents. Whether at a practice, at a game, or simply enjoying some fun in the sun, it’s important to play it safe.

Protective gear can save your teeth, face and even your life!

  • Wear a mouth guard when playing contact sports. Mouth guards can help prevent injury to a person’s teeth, mouth and jaw, and they are significantly less expensive than the cost to repair an injury, which can reach the tens of thousands of dollars over a lifetime.  Follow the good example of MLB All-Star pitcher Patrick Corbin, who wears a mouth guard every time he takes to the mound.
  • Wear a helmet. Helmets absorb the energy of an impact and help prevent damage to the head.
  • Wear protective eyewear. Eyes are extremely vulnerable to damage, especially when playing sports.
  • Wear a face shield to avoid scratched or bruised skin. Hockey pucks, basketballs, and racquetballs can cause severe facial damage at any age.

Let’s talk about the right mouth guard for you whether you are undergoing orthodontic treatment or not. Get yours this month for free! For questions, please contact the office at 954.217.3737 or info@orthodonticsinmiami.com for more information.

April is the perfect time to get into the mouth guard habit.  Wear one at every practice and every game.
